Hello, and Happy December ❆
We’ve already had our first snow here in Maryland, a real treat. There’s only a dusting left, but when I look out at the small hill to my neighbor’s house from my kitchen window I feel as though I’m a small animal hunkering down on the forest floor, tucked in by sleeping trees, dead leaves and tangled branches. Our house is poorly insulated, chillier in some places than others, but still cozy for its natural year-round darkness, which feels fitting this time of year. These days, leaving the house after 4pm feels like an act of violence, and I find myself contentedly, naturally homebound most of the time.
Today I’m sharing a grounding, root chakra-inspired practice for holiday-time. It includes rolling Earth salutations, affirmations for remembering your enough-ness, the use of blocks and props to emphasize ground support, and is capped off with a short active relaxation before savasana. I hope you enjoy.
